School-Based Crisis Intervention Program Coordinator – Association to Benefit Children – New York, NY

The School-Based Response Team (SRT) Program is a crisis intervention and mental health support program for 5 middle schools in the East Harlem/Harlem area. The SRT team will be stationed at each school once a week. It is the only SRT program of this kind in Manhattan.

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for leading the SRT team and providing both administrative and clinical oversight to the team. The Program Coordinator will report to ABC Fast Break’s Director and Assistant Director. The Program Coordinator will specifically: conduct a comprehensive needs assessment of the school’s mental health services; develop and implement a plan to address gaps; broker relationships within the school and community to address items in the implementation plan; develop strategies to improve school’s capacity to address mental health issues; provide trainings to the school community; provide mental health consultation for students referred to the SRT including those identified through PPT/SBST teams; provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments for students referred to the SRT; provide crisis intervention services; and facilitate data collection and management for reporting.

Qualifications: Master-level therapist with relevant experience in school-based setting with supervisory experience preferred; excellent leadership skills and ability to communicate with different target groups effectively; experience providing mental health services in East Harlem or Harlem community (or a similarly diverse population); experience providing crisis intervention services to children; multilingual preferred

This position is a TEMPORARY, full-time position with a 6-month tenure; there are no benefits or paid time off with this position
