Manager of Community Engagement Programs – Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center – San Mateo, CA

The central strategy for this position is to provide project management and facilitation skills to promote authentic immigrant integration and involvement, especially by those communitymembers who have not previously participated in a public engagement process.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports directly to the Director of Engaging Communities
Supervises Engagement Specialists
Works collaboratively with key partners such as Redwood City 2020, CARON Program of San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, City of Menlo Park, City of Redwood City and other partnerships throughout the County.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Service (70%)

• Deliver high quality community engagement programming

• Ensure congruence with PCRC’s mission, vision, values, and business plan

• Provide facilitation support for community dialogues, steering committee meetings, and

other project meetings (assist with agenda development, materials, note-taking, etc.)

• Lead the development and implementation of community outreach materials

• Respond to requests for information and consultation on neighborhood/community

issues and attend relevant events as program representative

• Provide direct service including planning, convening and facilitating.

Initiative Management & Administration (20%)

• Project management support for community capacity building projects (coordination,

scheduling, communication, record keeping/data collection).

• Manage program income and expenses, meet requirements of program funders.

• Participate on PCRC Engaging Communities team and in other work-related meetings.

• Provide support to Director of Engaging Communities Initiative in community and

civic engagement and public participation projects.

General (10%)

• Participate as a leader in the agency and the director’s strategic thinking partner

• Connect PCRC with individual, community, and institutional partners

Mediate, facilitate, and train as needed by the agency

• Other duties may be assigned and prioritized in conversation with the Director

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or minimum of three years work experience in volunteer management or

related field preferred

• Strong meeting management, and group facilitation skills (knowledge of dialogue models is a

plus)

• Excellent project management skills and experience

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Ability to manage flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends

• Ability to plan, initiate, and execute program activities in a timely, high quality manner

• Proven ability to communicate effectively with various levels of an organization and

collaborative partners

• Proficient in basic computer uses including managing data, reporting, and designing basic

outreach materials

• Bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural

• Ability to remain neutral and professional in emotionally charged situations

• Willingness to promote the integrity and neutrality of PCRC

• Have access to reliable transportation, hold a valid driver’s license and appropriate auto

insurance

COMPENSATION

Salary: $45,000-51,000 ; 40 hours (full time equivalent)

This is an exempt position offering a competitive salary and a compensation package that

includes medical, dental, life insurance, 403(B) plan, vacation, and holidays
