High School Math Teacher – Rising Tide Charter Public School

DESCRIPTION
Rising Tide Charter Public School is seeking a High School Social Mathematics Teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. Applicants must have a strong background in mathematics (a degree with a concentration in the subject area) as well as an interest in taking an inquiry- and skills-based approach to teaching and learning. Applicants must also have a strong understanding of all conceptual categories of high school mathematics and confidence in teaching courses from Algebra through and including Calculus.

Rising Tide Charter Public School (Rising Tide) is a Massachusetts charter public school. For the 2017-2018 school year, Rising Tide will serve approximately 675 students in grades 5-12 from towns in the school’s designated region; the majority of the students are residents of Plymouth. Next year will be the twentieth year for the school.

Rising Tide is a free public school that provides an academically challenging environment and high standards in a safe, small, and rewarding setting. Teachers develop the curriculum based upon the schoolwide objectives, benchmark skills, and subject area essential questions; the curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts State Frameworks. Teachers are encouraged to utilize an inquiry-based approach for building skills, content knowledge and understanding within the classroom. At Rising Tide, full-time teachers are a part of grade-level and curricular teams, are advisors for students, and are given opportunities for leadership within the school. Teachers also design and implement elective courses in addition to the courses in their primary discipline.
