Educational Sales Manager – Art in Action – Menlo Park, CA

Art in Action, a leading visual arts education nonprofit, is seeking an Educational Sales Manager to drive earned income and mission growth. The Manager promotes and sells the Art in Action program to schools and other organizations through direct sales activities and the management of inbound requests and leads. The Manager is a key contributor in scaling the impact of the organization and growing it beyond its steady base of long-term satisfied school customers.

Responsibilities:

Sell the Art in Action program using a comprehensive end-to-end process to ensure a robust pipeline of active prospects is maintained at all times. This includes analyzing opportunities, customer needs, and product/service fit, obtaining appointments, developing and presenting proposals and quotes, negotiating contracts, and closing sales
Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue and new customer targets
Renew, up sell and maintain existing accounts
Represent Art in Action at conferences and trade shows
Develop replicable sales strategies that can be utilized in other regions, including prioritization, lead generation, pricing models, and communications
Keep clear, detailed, current customer and prospect records utilizing Salesforce CRM
Conduct ongoing analyses of sales efforts. Identify trends, adapt strategies and execute tactical plans
Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual action plans and reports
Maintain productive and positive customer relationships
Build strategic partner relationships to develop and/or enhance sales alliances
Work with staff to support company objectives and mission

Experience/Qualifications:

Required:

5+ years of successful sales and marketing experience, educational sales experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to exceed sales goals
Evidence of ability to create successful sales strategy, tools, and projects
Self-starter, strong sense of responsibility and productivity, dependable follow-through, open to new ideas
Listens well, communicates clearly both verbally and in writing
Bachelor’s degree

Works well with customers and school personnel
Ability to work closely with other staff members toward sales goals
Creativity and leadership
Proficiency with Mac platform, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and social media

Exempt, full-time position
