Education Program Intern – World Affairs Council of Northern California – San Francisco, CA

World Affairs Council Education Program engages high school, community college and university students with programming designed to develop the international leaders of tomorrow across a broad range of disciplines. These programs range from meet the speaker events to student leadership programs, conferences, summer study groups and study abroad scholarships.

At this time, our main project is International Career Mentor Night in late February. International Career Mentor Night is a unique opportunity for high school, community college and university students to meet with Bay Area professionals who have experience in international development, journalism, government, education, law, business, human rights and global health.

In addition to helping prepare and lead International Career Mentor Night, you will have the opportunity to:

Assist in the preparation of research materials and develop lesson plans.
Develop marketing material and collateral.
Manage the Education Program’s social media.
Support outreach efforts to high school, community college and university students.
Assist Education Program Officer in any other duties assigned.

We are looking for an intern with a high school diploma, a creative mind, fluency in social media, a vast knowledge of international affairs, excellent research skills and a friendly demeanor.

Hours: 10 hours per week. Start date preferably mid-January; end date in May. Start and end dates are flexible. Please include availability in cover letter.

Interns are welcome to attend Council forums and other standard events free of charge and are given a one-year membership following the successful completion of the internship. This internship is unpaid; however we will reimburse you for monthly commuting costs.
