Director of Volunteer / Corporate Partnerships – Sports & Arts in Schools Foundation – Woodside, NY

Summary:

The Director of Volunteer and Corporate Partnerships of youth programs has the overall responsibility to develop a Volunteer program at SASF as well as maintain and develop relationships with corporate partners.

Primary Job Functions:

 Lead efforts to develop volunteer program at SASF, expanding on current opportunities and creating new ones. This effort will increase SASF’s prospect database, while simultaneously creating a core group of volunteers dedicated to the organization.

 Continue fostering relationships with current corporate partners (such as AT&T, Viacom, United Health Care, Barclays Center and Google) while also recruiting new corporate partnerships through the Speakers Bureau and other volunteer opportunities.

 Develop new strategies to recruit and engage speakers and other volunteers through opportunities with mentorships, field trips and career days.

 Help orchestrate special events engaging Speakers Bureau members and other volunteers that focus on community engagement and outreach, including career fairs and volunteer thank you events.

 Ensure annual Speak Week planning, including securing celebrity speakers; oversee marketing and coordination. Work with communications dept. to create online sign-up system for speaking/volunteer events, piloting it for this week.

 Develop Alumni/ae Association working with the Director of High Schools and program team through offering special events (workshops, social, cultural, etc), outreach to current alumni and raising funds to send care packages to them while in college.

 Solicit Sponsorship and grant opportunities from corporate partners, in addition to foundation and public support, to grow College Readiness programming.

 Re-brand Speaker Advisory Committee creating formal set of guidelines and positions, re-invite current members and engage new members.

 Support & develop The Champions Council which is a group of young professionals whose mission is to raise awareness, visibility, and funding for SASF while supporting SASF programs through volunteer initiatives.

Required Education:

 Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.

 Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience required
