JOB SUMMARY:
WCC contracts with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to protect at-risk children and strengthen families. Families are either referred to us by DCFS or by the probation department for abuse or neglect, or come to us through other community partners. The Director of Child Abuse Prevention is responsible for assuring that all program mandates and standards for excellence are met on a daily basis. This position is responsible for the overall structure, systems and procedures to facilitate program excellence in addition to operating responsibility for administrative, fiscal, clinical, legal, and programmatic aspects of the program. The Director of Child Abuse Prevention will provide the program with leadership and ensure management functions are properly implemented.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Family Preservation and Prevention and Aftercare program
Ensure all clinical services meet legal and ethical standards and are HIPPA compliant
Review and analyze monthly financial reports to assess the budget status and to initiate preventative measures if any problems appear
Ensure the agency provides services to the required number of families each month in order to meet DCFS’ expectation and to maximize the contract allocation
Design and implement a quality clinical training program for social welfare and marriage and family therapy trainees and interns
Provide direction to supervisors and program staff to ensure optimal client services
Provide individual and group supervision on a weekly basis
Monitor, review and sign off on all relevant documents completed by staff per contract and agency requirements
Develop and maintain program protocols, service delivery standards, and cultivate new and innovative partnerships to best serve children and their families
Design and monitor an internal audit program to ensure compliance and deliverables are met
Maintain a close working relationship with the Chief Financial Officer, who provides the Director of Child Abuse Prevention and Chief Operating Officer with information for budget writing and the status of the budget to facilitate effective oversight of expenditures
Ensures proper documentation and reporting of in-kind services related to complementary developmental services for Early Head Start families
Manage cross-agency referrals needed by Westside Infant Family Network (WIN) cases
Oversee WIN e-communications, data bases, telecommunications and other interactions with partner agencies in regards to WIN clients
Represent Westside Children’s Center at WIN Program Committee and other external partner meetings
Collaborate on topics for case manager meetings and other agency trainings
Attend funder-mandated evaluation, trainings, and case review meetings
Review agency performance data and assess ways to improve outcomes and/or processes
Complete additional required reporting documentation as required
Provide bi weekly reflective supervision to WIN case managers
Proactively participate and represent the agency in meetings, trainings and conferences
Ensure safety is a priority in performing all job responsibilities
Evening and weekend work required

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Psychologist
Minimum of three years of clinical supervision and management experience
Experience overseeing County of Los Angeles contracts (e.g. DCFS and DMH)
Clinical experience with at-risk populations, parenting, child abuse, and clients with diverse backgrounds
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to effectively establish rapport and maintain appropriate boundaries with supervisees, staff and clients
Ability to communicate effectively – verbally and in writing
Strong organizational skills
Commitment to teamwork
Basic computer skills required – Word, Excel, Software applications
Experience working with diverse groups and populations
Class “C” driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance
Access to reliable transportationBilingual in English and Spanish, a plus but not required
