Associate, Data and Reports Administration – Room to Read – San Francisco, CA

Position Overview:

The Data and Reports Administration Associate’s role is to ensure that Room to Read has the tools, systems, and processes in place so staff across the organization are able to collect, report, and use our program data as easily, efficiently, and effectively as possible (using our online database built on[[http:Salesforce.com|Salesforce.com]]).

The Associate, Data and Reports Administration is a member of Room to Read’s Global Program Operations team, based at the Global Office in San Francisco, and reports directly to the Director, Global Program Operations. The role will coordinate closely with the IT team, in particular the[[http:Salesforce.Com|Salesforce.Com]] Manager (SFDC Manager).

Responsibilities:

Project Manage: Prioritization and design database improvements and enhancements on behalf of Worldwide Programs and Operations teams and collaborate with IT to implement changes.
Perform: Salesforce administration tasks for Programs database based on requests from Worldwide Programs and Operations Teams.
Create: Tools, systems, processes, and resources for monitoring data quality and utilizing data with greater efficiency and results.
Support: The work of the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (RM&E) team by creating reports and tools for calculating and tracking the cross-national indicators towards program objectives and other research as needed.
Advise: On systems relating to data collection, entry, and reporting. Understand how the many related processes and systems work together and support the organization to be more streamlined.
Assess: Data being collected by other tools to determine how current database or other technology solutions could support the monitoring and reporting needs of Country and Global Offices.
Liaise: As Operations point person for IT projects relevant to the department.
Train: Staff in the field by developing and maintaining centralized database training materials, documentation, reports, and dashboards.
Facilitate: Annual review of database-related documentation by the Operations Team to ensure each programs’ manuals are up to date and clearly written.
Empower: Global staff by serving as a liaison and resource to the organization, helping others understand the database and its capabilities.
Lead: Organization by helping to increase use of the data for program management and decision making.
Communicate: With our worldwide staff by drafting clear communication around database enhancements; helping others who are less technical to understand the changes and train them to use the tools.
Track: Room to Read’s target number of projects each country plans to implement annually and communicate them to the organization.

Qualifications:
Required:

Bachelor’s degree
A minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant professional experience
Prior work with relational and/or online database applications
Advanced knowledge of the[[http:Salesforce.com|Salesforce.com]] (SFDC) platform or similar database, including experience in successful development and implementation of business process improvements
Excellent project management, data management, and report generation skills
Able to communicate effectively, in writing and through trainings, across departments and remote offices
Highly organized and thorough, with a strong detail orientation
Solution-oriented, creative problem solver
Prior success working closely and building relationships with diverse groups of people
Proven track record of achieving results in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global or regional organization
Legally eligible to work in the United States; no sponsorship provided
Ability and desire to travel internationally (up to 10%)

Preferred:

Salesforce.com Certified Admin
Experience bringing together data from different places to support better decision making
Advanced Excel skills
Prior success as member of a multi-national team
Prior experience building relationships and training others over a distance
