Associate Consultant – NPO Solutions – Studio City, CA

Position Description

The Associate Consultant will serve as an integral member of the NPO Solutions team, collaborating with the firm’s leadership to develop solutions tailored to the unique needs of our clients. The Associate Consultant’s responsibilities will vary from project to project, depending on the needs of the client. This gives new team members exposure to many different types of nonprofit organizations and business situations. Responsibilities include:

Support Client Engagement (75%)

Synthesizing qualitative and quantitative program, financial and organizational data of nonprofit clients through document analysis and interviews
Communicating findings and recommendations through written reports and presentations for nonprofit program staff, executive management teams and boards of directors
Facilitating joint problem-solving with senior managers
Writing grants proposals or other fundraising materials and identifying prospective donors
Creating business plans, strategic plans and development plans in partnership with senior managers and nonprofit clients

Support Firm Development Activities (25%)

Staying current on trends and drivers that impact our clients and the sector
Support the Firm’s short- and long-term growth efforts, including social media and marketing and networking
Supporting the Firm’s administrative needs as an enterprise

Who You Are

We are looking for curious critical thinkers able to tackle complex problems and build trust and goodwill in the process. Minimum qualifications include:

Strong commitment to working in the social sector
Effective communicator who can write, edit and present with confidence
High social and emotional intelligence, including an innate ability to connect and motivate clients and work collaboratively with team members
Keen business acumen or quantitative skills (as demonstrated professionally or academically)
An eagerness to learn and work across issue and functional areas and within a small business environment
Ability to show individual initiative
Excitement about working in a small team environment
A minimum of four years of professional experience in roles requiring analytical organizational level problem-solving, grant writing/resource development activities, nonprofit management or consulting
Strong academic record, including an advanced degree in business, public policy, public administration or related field.
