The Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh’s dynamic out of school time program “The After School Project” is gearing up for another successful year and is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to teach youth in grades K-12. Positions are from September to June. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check and child abuse screening.

We are currently hiring:
Academic Enrichment Instructors

Job Description: Energetic, highly motivated individuals to work in a rewarding youth environment. Instructors needed to enrich the personal talents of students by conducting classes through Project Based Learning. Develop an engaging classroom curriculum that is consistent with the Common Core State standards and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America initiatives. Monitor and evaluate student progress. Prepare students for end of year performance and showcase. Participate in year round training to improve curriculum development and classroom management skills. Academic Instructors are charged with improving NY State test scores and must have the ability to control a classroom and present their curriculum in an engaging and effective manner.

Requirements & Qualifications: At least a Bachelor’s degree; NYS certified preferred. Must be committed and be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and creativity in working with youth. Must be open to learning new ways to deliver services.

Days & Hours: The hours for these positions vary according to location. All positions are part time (hours vary but are generally 8-15 hours/week, 4-5 days/week) between 2:00pm & 6:00pm.
