Recruitment / Program Associate – Birthright Israel – New York, NY

Birthright Israel Excel is a business and leadership development program for college students who combine academic achievement with social responsibility, an aspiration to succeed in the business world, and a desire to strengthen their connection to the Jewish world and the State of Israel. The program aims to deepen the ties of participants to the State of Israel so they emerge as future Jewish leaders who want to preserve the identity, heritage, and welfare of the Jewish community; to encourage the next generation of international Jewish business and/or technology leaders to strengthen the future of global corporate policy towards the State of Israel and their connection to Jewish community and philanthropy.

The program comprises two segments:

– a ten-week stay in Israel during which participants intern with leading Israeli companies in the fields of business and technology, meet Israeli leaders in various fields of endeavor and learn about/deepen their connection to Israel and Israeli society.

– The second part of the program takes place in the United States and is aimed at shaping the participants’ consciousness as a group with regard to business leadership, Jewish leadership and social responsibility.

We are seeking a Recruitment and Program Associate to be based out of our NYC Office. Primary responsibilities will be to assist in the recruitment for the U.S. portion of Birthright Israel Excel Fellowship program in collaboration with the Director of Recruitment and provide significant alumni engagement support, both for events and communications to Associate Director.

Essential Responsibilities:

Recruitment, Selection & Outreach:

Responsible for full life cycle of Recruitment process; review applications and screen candidates; coordinate all logistics and conduct interviews as appropriate;
Track online applicant data; creating reports; updating information as necessary;
Handle all aspects of campus outreach; speak with representatives from campus career centers and targeted clubs and special interest groups;
Develop new connections and recruitment opportunities in campuses;
Maintain relationships with executives of Hillel, Chabad, fraternities/sororities to promote program.

Alumni Engagement:

Responsible for ongoing communications with participants;
Maintaining pertinent information regarding participants via databases;
Coordinate planning and execution of all aspects of Annual Conference for North American alumni along with Associate Director;
Responsible for Destination Management Coordination for Conference. Coordinate lodging, transportation, catering, photography/videography, reimbursements for travel, flight bookings, and other logistics;
Develop/create and coordinate Webinars for Excel fellows along with Associate Director;
Maintenance of social media platforms and various databases employed by organization;
Support programs for post fellowship participation;
Establish and maintain relationships of partnership programs;

Other tasks and duties reasonably related to job responsibilities;
    Generate reports, presentations and all other data needed about alumni.

Education, Skills and/or Experience Requirements:

BA degree required;
3-5 years recruiting experience required;
Detail oriented;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Team Player; Willing to pitch in whenever necessary;
Excellent computer skills; Knowledge of power point and advanced Excel is required;

Excellent business writing and communication skills;
Knowledge and experience working with CRM systems is a must;
Tech Savvy;
Skilled at multi-tasking; able to organize, prioritize and execute responsibilities in the face of conflicting priorities or unexpected situations;
Event production experience is a plus;
High level of discretion.
