Cater Communications, Inc. Seeks to Hire Project Director or Sr. Project Director in SF Bay Area Office

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Cater Communications, Inc., a bipartisan firm specializing in strategies to promote a clean energy economy, is seeking to hire a Project Director or Sr. Project Director based in its San Francisco Bay Area office. The position is available immediately.

To be eligible to apply, candidates must have five to eight years of experience in communications and/or media relations, as well as knowledge of and/or passion for clean energy issues. A background in digital communications strategy, video production, project management and/or journalism is also preferred.

We serve a variety of clients who share this mission, from foundations to government agencies and from businesses to non-profit organizations. We also work with clients focused on other important issues, such as nuclear security, medical research, and voter education.

Responsibilities:

Manage multiple high-level projects simultaneously
Produce communications plans designed to achieve client goals
Develop and execute social media strategies
Draft media materials such as press releases, media advisories, op-eds, letters to the editor, and media pitches
Draft other communications materials such as fact sheets, brochures, infographics, web copy, etc.
Draft new client proposals
Research and create media lists
Manage the development of websites from start to finish, including producing site maps, drafting web copy, overseeing the design process, and working closely with the web developer
Other duties related to project management include tracking budgets, writing invoices, maintaining media audits, and working well with team members

Qualifications:

Five to eight years experience in communications and/or media relations
Superior written and oral communication skills
Demonstrable passion for and/or knowledge of clean energy issues
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers to ensure high-quality, on-time deliverables
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Drive, media contact software (Cision/VOCUS preferred), and a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
Experience in digital media strategy, project management, video production and editing, or journalism preferred
Proficiency in Word Press, Drupal and other web platforms preferred
