Programs Manager – USGBC Massachusetts Chapter – Boston, MA

The U.S. Green Building Council, Massachusetts Chapter, is on a mission to transform the built environment toward sustainability. We are a membership supported non-profit that educates, promotes and advocates for green buildings throughout the state. We support the professional development of green building professionals and the credential maintenance of LEED Accredited Professionals and Green Associates in Massachusetts. As a Chapter of the larger national US Green Building Council, we advocate for state and local laws and regulations that promote green buildings, sustainable development and healthy material choices.

Job Summary

The Programs Manager (PM) supports the Executive Director (ED), other staff, and volunteers in coordinating USGBC MA Chapter income-producing programming focused on education, membership, and fundraising.

This is a full-time position based in Boston at 50 Milk St. The PM’s hours will be flexible to accommodate morning meetings, evening gatherings and/or weekend events.The PM is not expected to present programming, though an ability to capture attention and effectively address crowds is required.The Programs Manager will be supervised by the Executive Director.

The Chapter’s programming will be evolving and changing over time, however, current responsibilities include:

Delivering LEED credential-maintenance webinars

Organizing LEED Green Associate Study workshops and series

Supporting Monthly Membership Networking Night events

Managing membership solicitation campaigns and recordkeeping

Coordinating service project programs such as the Green Apple Day of Service and the ADVANCE program for engaging professionals on existing building greening projects

Coordinating fundraising events such as Earth Day Forum and Green Building Project Showcase

Supporting sponsoring firm solicitation campaigns, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management

Other duties will arise at the discretion of the Executive Director.

This position requires project management expertise, excellent communication with individuals throughout the green building industry and technical know-how related to website and customer relationship database management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Creative problem solver with the ability to jump quickly between responsibilities

Organized and self-motivated

Experience with green building concepts and the LEED Rating System

Has attained LEED Green Associate or can within 3 months of hire

Strong written and oral communication skills

Proficiency with Google Docs

Preferred:

Experience working with Drupal (CMS) and civiCRM

Experience with Constant Contact and social media platforms

Asana project management platform

Experience with design software and developing infographics a plus

Experience in volunteer management a plus
