Job Title: Office & Project Assistant
Location: Seattle Neighborhood Group 1810 East Yesler Way, Seattle, WA 98122
Reports to: Executive Director and Associate Director

Compensation: This is a part time hourly position. 30 hrs/week at $15.00/hr.

Subject: Office & Project Assistant

Job Purpose: Work to prevent crime and build community through partnerships with
residents, businesses, law enforcement and other organizations.

Required:
• Strong interest in working on a team to improve safety in Seattle communities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Work respectfully with many different communities
• Willing and eager to interact with people at public events
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
• Have some exposure to Mac Operating System
• Eager to learn, self-starting learner
• Ability to lift 20 pounds, navigate uneven surfaces
• Some evening and weekend work
• Candidates must undergo a criminal background check, however
criminal history will not necessarily preclude employment

Preferred but not required: Candidates with experience in office setting

Desired: AA degree, or post-secondary education of some type, including active
students. Undergraduate degree desired but not required.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support SNG’s Vision and Mission and uphold the Agency’s Core Values
• Represent the agency professionally in the community
• Greet visitors at door and answer phone
• Admin support such as filing, mail, shipping, and other tasks as directed
• Maintain office inventories including equipment, supplies, outreach materials
• Support Project Coordinators’ work by preparing materials
• Scheduling support for Project Coordinators
• Invoice and contract tracking
• Keep office environment clean and orderly
• Support Project Coordinators at agency events and with outreach as directed
• Mail and shipping
• Schedule and coordinate community-based activities as directed
• Conduct community outreach
• Support staff with crime prevention education in diverse community settings*
• Assist with computer and office equipment issues
• Process background checks
• Be present on site during business day, 4 days a week
• Work to a set schedule with occasional exceptions

*SNG will train for tasks employee is responsible for.
