Big Sister Association is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team. As a Big Sister staff member you will contribute to a mentor-rich community in which every girl has access to the individual nurturing, guidance and support she needs to become a confident, competent and caring adult. Big Sister Association of Greater Boston is the 2015 National Agency of the Year with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America because of our commitment to healthy, long-lasting relationships between women and girls.

Responsibilities
Conduct telephone reference checks for prospective volunteers
Assist in processing volunteer and client applications
Create filing folders for mentoring department programs
Data entry
Prepare mailings
Assist in front desk coverage by answering phone calls and providing information to callers pleasantly and professionally
Meet, greet, and assist volunteers and visitors, determine their needs and/or direct them to the appropriate staff in a welcoming, professional manner
Other administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications
Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred
This is a 20 hour per week position. Schedule is somewhat flexible, but candidates must be able to work 3-4 days per week during business hours, including one evening per week.
Excellent customer service skills
Prior experience working in an office setting
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and complete projects in a timely manner
Detail-oriented
Ability to give and receive feedback for personal growth
High level of professionalism
Strong organizational skills over the phone and in-person
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel)
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
Ability to work independently and problem solve
Fluency in one of the following languages preferred: Spanish, Cantonese, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, and Cape Verdean Creole.
Reports to: Manager of Enrollment and Matching, Community Based Mentoring.
