For 45 years, the Northern Plains Resource Council has helped Montana citizens organize to protect water quality, family farms and ranches, and our unique quality of life.
LOCATION: Billings, Montana
Join our team of organizers and program staff as the Communications Assistant to make the world a better place! Take part in the work to promote water quality, renewable energy, local food and economic systems and healthy soil. Work with members from all over the state. SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:
Design & layout of posters, postcards, brochures, newsletter, etc.
Organizational email lead (finalize content and layout, & send out mass emails to varied lists)
Manage the northernplains.org website, including general updates to donations pages, event listings, front page changes, layout, and creation of any new pages as needed,
Pull lists/reports for mailings and emails
Backup and assistance on database entry
Organize and tag photos
Special projects as assigned
This part-time position is 20 hours per week, with some flexibility as to work hours.
Commitment to Northern Plains’ issues and values, ability to get along well with people from diverse backgrounds, strong writing skills, experience with social media, writing, editing, graphic design (Adobe Suite), website creation and maintenance (WordPress) and electronic communication essential. Also helpful: experience working for social change or on environmental issues, a political campaign, familiarity with conservation and agriculture issues, and experience with fundraising.
