Social Media Coordinator – The Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED) USA Foundation – San Francisco, CA

Camfed is a fast-paced and award-winning international charitable organization. It is dedicated to fighting poverty and HIV/AIDS in rural Africa by educating girls and encouraging women to become leaders of change. The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with fundraising and communications staff across Camfed’s seven offices and external partners. Based in San Francisco, CA, this exciting new post will:

Oversee social media campaign set up, execution and day-to-day platform management
Analyze campaign performance with regular data analysis
Develop communications that facilitate deeper relationships with donors and influencers
Support the delivery of Camfed’s social media strategy (including message development, content creation, optimization/testing, paid media, analytics and reporting)

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with excellent writing skills, who works equally well independently or as part of a team – candidates should have a background in digital engagement or marketing communications, with demonstrable skills in successfully building brand engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and execute creative and data-driven social media campaigns
Oversee daily social media activity, writing posts that are timely, relevant and effectively increase conversions
Implement the editorial calendar and work with key teams to create compelling content
Develop strategies and testing to target specific audiences
Execute organic and paid social media programs and engagement campaigns
Track website traffic, social media metrics and campaign performance
Research social media trends and tactics, and be an internal advocate for digital engagement
Maintain a consistent brand voice across all social content and communications.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

Bachelor’s degree required.
Proven experience developing social media strategy
Comprehensive understanding of (and the ability to articulate) the impact of social media on marketing objectives
Subject matter expertise in social media platforms e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.
Creative design skills with the ability to turn ideas into creative assets. Photoshop and/or InDesign a plus.
Ability to interpret data using established analytic/reporting tools
Excellent written communication, copy writing and proof-reading skills
Ability to develop compelling messages and content from factual stories
Experience working within a digital ad agency or marketing communications team
Experience working across international teams and managing projects
Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines

Terms and Conditions
6 month contract position.
