Program Associate – Better Business Bureau Serving Metropolitan New York

Candidates with excellent writing, administrative and research skills are invited to apply for a full-time Program Associate position at the Better Business Bureau and its Education and Research Foundation. BBB program areas include charity accountability, fraud prevention, educational content and program development, and promotion of responsible business practices.

Work assignments include: helping to plan and execute programs and events; conducting research and writing for content development; customer service; and general office work, such as making calls, generating correspondence, organizing mailings, maintaining databases, monitoring software and data quality, etc. Tasks may also include performing assignments related to marketing, communications, website management and the charity accountability program; participating in trainings; and assisting with BBB or BBB Foundation projects as needed.

Candidates should have strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; solid writing and research ability; excellent interpersonal skills; Internet skills, including a general understanding of social media; a good phone manner; professional attitude; facility with numbers; good record-keeping skills; strong organizational skills; and the ability to manage details. Prior office experience and college degree required. Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of nonprofit work is preferred. Grant writing experience, prior marketing experience, familiarity with programs such as Constant Contact, and bilingual Spanish-English fluency are not required but would be helpful.
