We partner with organizations, associations, and cooperatives worldwide that integrate their commitment to community development—specifically, improvements in education, health, women’s rights, and employment opportunities—with socially responsible income-generating enterprises. We create economic opportunity by offering design direction, generating demand, and bringing the unique, handmade, and quality fashion accessories that our more than 40 partners in 20 countries produce to the U.S. market through our retail website, www.globalgoodspartners.org. Visitors to our website can choose from hundreds of fair trade products and read the personal stories of the women who make them.

We are seeking a talented intern this fall who will contribute to sales and marketing efforts.

Social Media and Print Media – Expand and maintain GGP’s social networking and online presence to promote GGP products; fundraising efforts; and stories of artisan partners around the world. Research target market publications and calendar of deadlines and develop pitches.

Sale Outreach – Support Marketing Manager’s efforts to promote sales in each of GGP’s three principal sales channels: retail; wholesale; and private label. Create targeted lists to specific audience segments and develop communications, both digital and print, directed at audience.

General Qualifications:

Experience with social media tools (i.e. Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter)
Self starter able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent research and writing skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Specific Qualifications a Plus (but not necessary)

Experience in creating and implementing public relations campaigns, including familiarity with print and online media Familiarity with e-mail marketing applications like Mail Chimp. Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop Interest in fashion, design, or craft production

Hours—10-15 hours/week
