The National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions (the Federation) is a dynamic, growth-oriented intermediary specializing in bringing financial services to low-income communities through nonprofit, member-owned community development credit unions (CDCUs). Based in New York City, the Federation provides financial, technical, and educational services to credit unions serving low-income and economically disenfranchised communities.

Internship Description

The Federation is seeking a Marketing and Communications Intern to support our ongoing communications and marketing of the Federation’s Initiatives to the community development, credit union, and financial capability fields. The ideal candidate would be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.

The intern will work at the Federation’s New York City offices 6-10 hours a week, schedule can be flexible. Immediate start preferred, though summer intern candidates also welcome. Compensation is $12/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the management of content for company website and social media

Creation of new landing and destination pages and forms as well as posting downloadable documents and videos

Design and draft announcement, newsletter and event emails to render correctly in multiple browsers and email providers

Create and manage Facebook and Twitter posts

Create and manage WordPress CMS (content management system) to ensure all content, video, PDF, etc. are accessible and downloadable for all users and visitors

Support Federation marketing activities as needed, including event marketing, i.e. Annual Conference

Support analysis of Federation member credit union engagement

Desired Skills and Experience:

Excellent written communication skills, including business correspondence, press releases, and informational e-blasts
Detail oriented and committed to excellence
Design experience in Photoshop and InDesign a plus
