Camp Mariposa Program Coordinator – The Moyer Foundation – Philadelphia, PA

Position Summary:

To assist the Camp Mariposa Program Manager and the National Programs Director in the development, growth and success of the Camp Mariposa program for The Moyer Foundation. Required qualifications include previous experience assisting in the administration of a program as well as the ability to work independently on projects with a national scope. The Camp Mariposa program is a mentoring and support program for youth who have been impacted by substance abuse in their family. The main component of the program is free weekend camps for youth ages 9-12. These weekend camps are held every other month at 11 locations around the country. In addition, the program provides support services to younger family members as well as teens who have aged out of the weekend camp component through funding from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) of the Department of Justice. In addition to the Program Coordinator roles, this position will also include office administrative responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate and manage all programmatic activities as primary contact for four established Camp Mariposa locations in San Diego, CA; Sarasota-Manatee, FL; South Bend, IN; and Everett-Seattle, WA.
Coordinate and track Camp Mariposa data in four locations to ensure quality control including but not limited to post camp calls and end of year reports, participant waiver and releases, surveys, budgets, programmatic activities and schedules.
Facilitate Post Camp Calls after each camp weekend which occur 6 times per year at each location.
Perform on-site visits to the four Camp Mariposa Program locations periodically.
Establish data reporting systems for Camp Mariposa locations to obtain all of the information required for reporting on the OJJDP grant and well as additional surveys distributed at Camp.
Conduct a research project focused on streamlining data entry requirements, in collaboration with key Moyer Foundation staff persons
Assist with national research project with Louisiana State University.
Responsible for recruiting and supervising volunteers and interns for the Camp Mariposa program.
Revise all marketing documents and other creative and media collateral as needed.
Assist with program outreach and awareness efforts.
Assist with updates and distribution of the Camp Mariposa Best Practices Guide and The Moyer Foundation’s National Resource Guides.
Write content, design and distribute quarterly Camp Mariposa program e-newsletter.
Manage relationships with vendors to obtain best pricing for promotional items.
Coordinate donations of in-kind items from groups such as Major League Baseball, Under Armour, and Project Linus.
Responsible for office administrative duties including answering phones, organizing and distributing office mail, ordering supplies and maintaining an overall professional and productive work environment.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

BA in Social Work, Psychology, Communications or related field
Previous experience assisting in the administration of a program, preferably national in scope
Strong ability to nurture and sustain critical relationships with program partners around the country
Knowledge of, and commitment to, The Moyer Foundation’s mission
Connection to or general knowledge about substance abuse and addiction
Outstanding written and oral communications skills
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proven capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
Willingness to travel
Confidentiality, honesty and discretion required
