Assistant Director, Events / Communications – Meals on Wheels of Central MD – Baltimore, MD

Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, Inc. has an immediate opening for Assistant Director, Events & Communication, located in Baltimore, Maryland. This position is for an experienced event and communications professional who will be responsible for being the lead in planning, coordination and execution of events including the signature event, third-party events; and recognition events and also responsible for supporting the development of and maintenance of marketing and communication strategies to meet organizational objectives and fundraising goals.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

1.Lead in planning, coordination and execution of events including the signature event, third-party events; and recognition events

2. Responsible for supporting the development of and maintenance of marketing and communication strategies to meet organizational objectives and fundraising goals.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1.Strong event-planning, management and execution experience as well as partnership-building skills.

2.Proficient computer skills, including demonstrated competencies in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Photo Filter and Adobe; social media and website updating/posting skills. Familiarity with Blackbaud NetCommunity platform is a plus.

3. Excellent writing/editing and verbal communications skills with an exceptional attention to detail.

Required Education/Work Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field

2. 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications or event planning

3.At least 3 years in the planning, development and growth of events
