Human Resources Associate – French American International School – San Francisco, CA

French-American International School is looking for a reliable, multi-tasking individual with excellent organization and communication skills who can hit the ground running and wear multiple hats within the Business Office. An essential part of the position will be assisting with payroll processing. The Human Resources Associate will provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and CFO.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll/HRIS

Assist with semi-monthly payroll
Audit payroll for deductions (healthcare, parking, tuition, FSA, DCA, commuter checks etc.)
Calculate overtime hours for every payroll
Add and terminate employees from payroll

Benefits

Reconcile benefits statements on a monthly basis
Participate in the benefit administration to include claims resolution, change reporting etc.
Maintain HRIS records and compile reports from database as needed
Organize employee events as part of employee wellness program

Employee relations

Tend to employee requests (missing hours, employment verifications, EDD audits, etc.)
Provide information to employees regarding their benefits as needed
Respond quickly and accurately to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits

Compliance

Prepare Healthy San Francisco reports and deposits
Assist with ACA reporting
Track hourly employees’ accrued sick time
Assist in TB tracking and compliance as it pertains to new hire paperwork

Administrative duties

Manage faculty and staff accrued time-off and requests
Keep employee files updated
Assist or prepare correspondence
Process mail and employee checks
Assist with events on occasions
Prepare and send out students re-enrollment packages
Copy, fax and scan documents and perform other clerical functions as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Experience using a payroll system such as: ADP Workforce Now or Paycom a MUST
Must be able maintain extreme confidentiality
Prior experience with an HRIS database
Must possess superior organizational skills
Must be able to interact and communicate clearly with all members of a diverse cultural community
Strong excel, communication (written and verbal), and analytical skills, a must
Customer service oriented and professional demeanor
Adaptability and flexible, able to multi task

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree
Two to three years of experience in payroll

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Position involves working in front of a computer for extended periods of time
Walking up and down stairs
Events set up on occasion ( open enrollment, team building events, wellness workshops etc.)
Travelling between three campuses on occasion
