Financial Support Specialist – Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ Inc – Cherry Hill, NJ

CUSTOMER IMPACT STATEMENT: The Financial Support Specialist reports to the Manager of Service Unit Support. The Financial Support Specialist performs a variety of financial support tasks to the Service Unit Support department and the Product Program department. Assisting Service Unit Support Department personnel as needed with volunteer banking support.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES (may include, but not limited to):

Responsibilities/Objectives

Service Unit and Customer Support

Assists all Service Units and troops with opening and tracking all bank accounts. (including closing accounts, transferring funds, refunding fees, retrieving missing funds, following up with volunteers not complying with service unit management requests, as well as requested audits/reviews of accounts) Direct liaison with Beneficial and TD Bank for volunteer bank accounts.

2. Work directly with Service Unit Support manager to update all trainings for volunteers. Assist with presenting updated materials to volunteers. Keeping all Service Unit Treasurers updated on materials and procedures. Work with treasurers to track and review all annual financial summaries. Including follow up on missing reports.

1. Support all GSUSA recommendations for troop bank accounts and banks and track all volunteer accounts.

Product Program Support

1. Track and post deposits during product sales. (Includes addressing non-sufficient fund debits, follow up with volunteers on deposit issues, and follow up with Product Program staff when issues with entering data into SNAP/NutE.

2. Follow up after Product Program audits complete with updating accounts when collection payments are made.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Minimum High School degree

Experience:

Minimum 1-3 years’ experience

Skills:

Must have computer literacy and demonstrated proficiency in the use general business proprietary software. Attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal skills required. Demonstrated time management skills; ability to work in fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills.

Physical Qualifications:

Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods of time. Ability to successfully operate a computer, calculator, copier and other office machinery. Hearing within normal range for telephone use. Occasional high stress work may be required in dealing with volunteers/staff.

Other:

The Financial Support Specialist must be able to react favorably in all work situations, must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people, understand and accept responsibility for deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions as needed.
