The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is an independent, non-profit organization founded to provide first-rate, unbiased research along with technical and scientific analysis to environmental regulators. Our mission is to improve the environmental performance and energy efficiency of road, marine, and air transportation in order to improve public health and mitigate climate change.

The ICCT seeks a highly committed, positive, self-motivated Financial Analyst to join our Finance/Accounting Team. The person in this role does the monthly financial reporting and interfaces directly with development and program staff on tracking and reporting of program projects, regions and grants.

Position Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and deliver all financial reporting for the organization under the direction of the Director of Finance and Operations;
Perform ongoing analysis of overall program and project spend rates, labor rates, actual expenditures vs. budgets, variance analysis, cash flow, and other related analytical reports;
Track and account for grants, contracts, program initiatives and projects;
Generate regular grants reporting for internal and external use;
Drive annual budget in collaboration with the management team;
Manage final budget implementation;
Oversee and assure financial systems are maintained and running smoothly In coordination with the Accounting Manager, including some systems integration using a cloud-based database;
Assist with audit preparation and responses to audit issues; and
Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Ideal Prior Experience

3+ years of hands-on financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting experience, combined with a thorough understanding of standard accounting practices;
2+ years of grants or contracts accounting and reporting experience within a non-profit, an international development NGO, government agency (EPA or other), or consulting environment;
Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills;
Meticulous attention to details and strong organizational skills;
Great interpersonal communication skills including written and verbal skills, combined with an upbeat, ‘can-do’ attitude;
Highly self-motivated and works well in both a team environment and individually;
Recent experience working in/with integrated, cloud-based reporting systems;
Excellent proficiency with MS Office, particularly MS Excel, QuickBooks accounting software, SalesForce and other related applications; and
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or other relevant subject.
