Executive Director – Cobb Children’s Learning Center – Roseburg, OR

Cobb School is seeking a distinguished administrator with demonstrated experience as a successful non-profit leader and manager, a commitment to nurturing a school community, and deep understanding of 21st century learning. Prior experience in school leadership at a private, charter or traditional public school, and at least five years of teaching and/or administrative experience with demonstrated results, is preferred. The Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Cobb’s staff, programs, execution of its mission and cohesion of the school community.

Responsibilities

The Executive Director will build on the strength of the Cobb Learning Center by:

Ensuring programmatic excellence and outstanding program evaluation
Set vision and direction for outstanding academic and experiential learning program
Engage Cobb community in ongoing innovation around 21st century learning and outcomes for students
Deepening the commitment and engagement of a diverse community of stakeholders
Nurture and mobilize the Cobb School community, including parents, volunteers, board members, action teams, alumni, and partner organizations
Develop, maintain and support a strong Board of Directors that provides strategic direction to the school
Strengthen all aspects of communications—from school newsletters to web presence and external relations
Managing a high-performing institution
Lead, support, and retain Cobb’s committed, innovative and highly effective staff and team
Ensure consistently high-quality finance and administration functions
Expand revenue-generating and fundraising activities to support current and future programming, including fostering donor, alumni and foundation relations

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required, advanced degree preferred

Prior Experience:

At least 5 years of school administration experience preferred
Results as an organizational leader, with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
Past success working with a Board of Directors and demonstrated ability to cultivate existing board member relationships and impact

Skills:

Proven leadership, organizational, and relationship management experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills; a clear and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
