Development Director – Catalyst Consulting Services – Dade City, FL

Job Purpose:

The Development Director is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing a marketing and resource development plan that outlines a strategy to increase the affiliate’s market share, brand recognition and financial resources. Fundraising activities include; grant management, cultivation and stewardship of annual giving, sponsorship acquisition, management of in-kind donations and volunteer development.

Essential Responsibilities:

Annual Giving – Work with the staff and Board to analyze the current development program, develop new initiatives, conduct prospect research, cultivate and steward current and new donors to increase annual giving. Special giving and sponsorship programs include church based, civic clubs, Men Bake, Carpenters Club, etc.
House Sponsorships – Work with President/CEO and Board to help identify and recruit partners for home sponsors and teambuilding days.
Grant Management – Oversee grant writing efforts through grant research, writing and submission of proposals. Monitor current grants and ensure that proposals and reports are submitted according to all guidelines and deadlines.
Corporate Relations – Work with the President/CEO and Board to strengthen relations with the corporate community in Pasco County by identify gift planning strategies to pursue and increase sources of corporate and foundation funding.
Public Relations / Marketing – Prepare a comprehensive marketing plan to meet the long-range branding efforts of the affiliate and its ReStore operations. Develop content for raising funds, including website, social media, newsletter, brochures and campaign materials. Make presentations to corporate, church, civic, and community groups.
Special Events – Work with the staff, Board and volunteers to help Habitat successfully produce fundraising events.
Volunteer Development – Collaborate with the Volunteer Director to strengthen the link between volunteerism and financial support. Work with volunteer committee to cultivate donors for annual giving efforts.

Job Requirements:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, business or other related areas.

Experience:

Three to five years’ experience in fund raising for nonprofits and/or faith-based organization.
Extensive experience in managing a donor portfolio, conducting face to face visits and solicitations and managing donor relationships within a donor database.
Public speaking experience.

Demonstrated Skills:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional Suite, Microsoft Publisher, and Microsoft Outlook.
Working knowledge of fund raising software.
Working knowledge of basic office machines.
Must be able to foster an environment of team work within the affiliate and possess leadership qualities and ability to make effective recommendations to the staff and Board.
Pass background checks and drug screening.
Employee is responsible for timely transportation to and from all community based instruction, training, education, and presentations.
If privately owned motor vehicle is utilized for employment-related travel, the driver must possess a valid Florida driver’s license, and proof of motor vehicle insurance.
